Conference Venue

The International Forum will be held in the Festival Hall of Vienna City Hall (entrance Lichtenfelsgasse 2, 1010 Vienna). You can travel directly to the City Hall on the underground line U2, "Rathaus" station. The evening event will take place in the MuseumsQuartier, Ovalhalle. You can easily reach the MuseumsQuartier by the underground lines U2 and U3, "Volkstheater/MuseumsQuartier".

Study Tour

Vienna has a long-standing experience in the field of energy-efficient housing construction and renewal. The study tour on 25 November 2009 will provide an opportunity for participants to see a number of practical examples illustrating the differentiated approach taken by the City of Vienna with regard to its historical building stock and new housing construction.
Participation in the study tour is free of charge.

Conference Languages

In all conference sessions simultaneous translation into German, English and Russian will be provided. The working language in the study tour will be English only.

For your registration please use the online form on the page registration.
Participation in the conference, the study tour, and evening event is free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs have to be covered by the conference participants.

Hotel bookings

Please be aware of the fact that hotels in Vienna may be quite fully booked in late November due to international congresses and the opening of the famous Viennese "Christkindlmarkt" (Christmas market). We therefore recommend to book your hotel room as early as possible.

Entry Formalities - Visa

Citizens of all EU Member States, most North and South American countries and a few other countries may enter Austria with a valid passport or - within the EU - an identity card.

Travellers requiring a visa may travel in Austria, and in every Schengen country, for a period of three months with a Schengen visa.

If you have any doubts, please obtain information before departure about the entry formalities from the Austrian consulate of your country or from the website of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.bmaa.gv.at.

Public Transport / Airport Transfer

The public transport network of Vienna is one of the best in the world and includes five underground lines, 32 tram lines and 80 bus lines.

For travel to and from the airport there are several options:

	Suburban Railway (S7): departures every 30 minutes, journey time 30 minutes, fare EUR 3.-
	City Airport Train (CAT): departure every 30 minutes, journey time 16 minutes, fare EUR 8.-
	Public shuttle bus between the airport and Schwedenplatz in the city centre. Departures every 20-30 minutes, journey time 20-25 minutes, fare EUR 8.-
	Taxi: A taxi rank is situated directly in front of the arrival hall. Appr. EUR 30.- to the city centre
